Grey Lynn isn’t just a place. It’s a mindset. Creative, curated, and constantly evolving.

Independent, expressive, and full of character, it’s one of Auckland’s most distinctive inner-city neighbourhoods. The Grey Lynn Business Association exists to support and amplify that energy along with a dynamic and successful business community.

Backed by local businesses, Grey Lynn is now officially a Business Improvement District (BID). This unlocks new investment, a stronger collective voice, and the ability to shape what comes next.

What Being a BID Means

A Business Improvement District is a partnership between local businesses and Auckland Council, funded through a targeted rate and reinvested back into the area, to ensure a sense of place and promote our business precincts.

Our Focus

With BID status, we now invest directly back into Grey Lynn to:

  • Bring more people into the area through marketing and promotion
  • Create experiences through events, activations, and placemaking
  • Advocate for local businesses with council and key stakeholders
  • Strengthen the business community through, connection, skills development, and support

Everything we do is shaped by local businesses, for local businesses. We are building a more connected, vibrant, and resilient Grey Lynn. A place where businesses thrive and people want to spend time.
